dear diary

here's the late(last?) email sent to Article V hitters:

Had a great call with Les yesterday. He has explicated very well one of the fronts in the battle—public finance. Making a video detailing alarming facts about a symptom of a problem will capture the attention of a certain amount of the populace, yet what are they supposed to do when elections and voting have been deep-sixed by private money via a USSC ruling?

Making a documentary with a compelling premise about the actual/legal solution seems the best strategy.

We open with you saying who you are and what you’ve been focused on, and how you became aware of the convention clause, then detail to the audience what they’re about to watch: 150 college students standing in for the real thing.

I was on the floor at the ASU student convention March 2024, and I can tell you it was compelling, and if done well will be moments people cheer and moments people cry because it will be the USA writ large today, showing we’re not far apart on important issues.

2+ million for such a documentary, and it will become historic, because it will shown plain as day what we must do, and the tipping point will be reached, and the Congress will call it. Congress hasn't called it because they've never been forced to because more than half of us have always believed what we were always told—that a convention is dangerous. The right documentary will make those fears a thing of the past, and we will get the call, and from there in a natural progression of events we’ll become authentic again as a society and as a republic.

I trust everyone is like me in that you like to sleep at night, and so I say what I believe ought to be said here. If there’s some secret handshake I haven’t learned, please do tell.

Sometimes I wonder if a day will come where all of us will have to answer for what we haven’t done at this moment in history. At present the idea on the table is to make an inexpensive documentary to put the crack in the dam, knowing what happens to a dam with a crack.

Wishing all a great time with family and friends this week. Isn’t it remarkable to think less than 3 million dollars will light the brushfires of the mind to the point our predicament is over?

John
