dear diary

I'm making good progress on the novel. I did get knocked off my horse again, but finding nothing broken, dusted myself off and got back in the saddle. Immediately upon doing that, the radiator on my Volvo wagon sprung a leak. Couldn't go where I'd always gone during the studio/gallery days, so found a place deep in the valley to do it for cash. Tossin'/turnin' knowing it could turn into a nightmare, dropped it off, and walked over to the park where I saw many beautiful trees and an osprey picking off fish from the lake, landing it and having a snack. Get back, car is out front running, all's good, payment, and asked where I might get two used tires inexpensively; the fronts needing replacement. Take directions, get there, and as I pull up into the lot, the car dies. In a tricky little spot, where drivers are making a shoot into two lanes; waited for red, let car roll back onto street, and proceed to push it to next cross street while cars zip past; almost there and the part too steep, a younger and older latino who happened to be there helped get it out of the way. Limped it back to shop, and they're confused about what's going on. I say to myself, guess this is it, where mr. toad's wild ride ends. They figured it out, and likely because it happened right then, prob saved my deal as what was wrong would've likely become an issue. Now back at Decker overlooking the ocean with a new radiator, thinking and breathing normally. Back to the novel.
