dear diary

My Volvo wagon, the thing between me and oblivion, and recently replaced radiator after much fret and foment, and thought good to go, but then ETS light on the dash--the electronic throttle system? Part $800 but based on research appeared non-mechanic could possibly pull off repair themself. Car running like a top, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride continues.

The height of existence is

walking barefoot in your own garden—

some little space or large

where you plant the things

you want to see grow,

and watch them come along

alongside what comes next.

dear diary

Tomorrow I begin teaching art at Channel Islands Art Studios, a former elementary school campus repurposed into a non-profit arts campus, as a credentialed educator for the State of California. I have taught youngsters art many times over the years, but in this instance, need to sketch out plans for the classes, and am excited with what I've come up with. I'm going to first ask (write on board) How To Make Art as one choice, How To Be an Artist, as another, and also Both or Not Sure as two others. Then, instead of handing out materials and going through the rudiments of an objective, we're going to begin with a class project. We're going to vote on the three colors the project will deploy, then set to create a large water-color with various figurations of geometric shapes in oil pastel. In this process we'll discover the properties of the materials used, whole considering the precept that all art of value floats and glows. Pretty excited to see what we come up with.

On Friday there is a somewhat significant political Zoom call to which I've been invited, and in which will detail the political landscape, and based on logic and reason what might be a successful approach to the present situation.

Then the novel. I've gotten lots more solid work done over the past few months and the light at the end of the tunnel is brightening. Still lots of work to do though.

late chapter edit

Purusha is the concept of a cosmic being whose sacrifice to engage in the material world gives rise to life and knowing; it’s the universal spirit present in everything and everyone all the time as a form neither male or female, but a supernal blend of both, which creates all consciousness, connecting all self-organized entities. Purusha is like the first fractal, where the outline of their form is made of smaller exact replicas, and the outline of them made of even smaller replicas, so that there are manifestations of Purusha all the way down to human form. As above, so below, as one writing says.

The reason Purusha chose to manifest first as male is because humans, as part of an animal kingdom, need protection, and in our form of existence, in any unknown and potentially dangerous situation the male is sent first simply because they possess additional physical might. Over the centuries many have come to worship Purusha under many names, male or female, or both. The writings set down five thousand years ago are the words which transmit our origin story and precepts of spiritual knowledge as an instruction manual for human life on Earth. The writings as words and verses embody the moment Purusha sacrificed pure bliss for knowledge and understanding in an undefined universe.

The writings are in Sanskrit, a word which means positive, pure, polished, sacred. Sanskrit, like Cuneiform, spawned modern language. The body of texts composed in Sanskrit set down in word the cosmology known as the Vedas. The Sanskrit word for Veda itself, as a noun, means knowledge—derived from the root, to know. The Vedas are two-fold—what’s heard and what’s remembered—and have since their appearance been considered not of humans, impersonal and authoress sound, orally transmitted since two thousand years before Jesus Christ. The mantras, the oldest part of the Vedas, are recited in the modern age for their phonology, and are considered to be primordial frequencies of creation. According to the Vedas, in reciting them the cosmos is regenerated, enlivening and nourishing late forms of creation at their base.
