novel excerpt

In the novel Steppenwolf, the author posits the idea that humanity is bridge between spirit and nature.  Having contemplated it a number of years, it means the person or persons you see in your proximity are part spirit and part animal. The thing about being apart of a crew of people, is that because we’re all half animal and half spirit, sometimes someone didn’t have their stuff together, or they got greedy and kept selling when it was time to go. The bummers where Marcus circled back to pick up a last crew member and it was like—“Come on, come on! Let’s go! Let’s go!”—and they were too slow with money and exchange, a motorcycle cop would zoom up and order us off the route, instead of being able to skate ahead to redeploy; in the mouth of the dragon, it happened here and there. There were all kinds of crazy moments in that attempt to milk the front end of the circus without getting caught behind it. It was painful, sitting in traffic, knowing people in the next town were showing up to a curb; a crying shame to think of folks not having something to wave at a moment like that.

Book: Benvenuto Cellini/Autobiography

Dear Diary

All my late reading has been able to suddenly put to rest so many lingering questions. In one instance, I found out Krishnamurti was a theosophist. In all my years of encountering him via text/recordings, and because he hung out in territory I grew up and lived, and was always like no, no, no.  Never said anything I read or heard, compelling me to look further. No gurus? No older humans who can make sense for younger humans in their contemporary society? Gee, thanks K.

please note:

Not to go into details, but I was trusting of some people and my PO Box key has gone missing; meaning worst case scenario, between sometime last week and the next few days, my mail may have been or might be accessed and removed. Hope to have new lock/key pronto and will report back when safe and secure again.
