Dear Diary

 This is really happening right? The end of 2024? Where except for a tiny few, you're now a pariah? I remember sometime back in the teens, working on the political science, where I semi-sarcastically said what I'm doing will result in me living in the bushes. Not quite there yet, but maybe. And now I wonder maybe that's where I want to be, a little 2x4 platform and tent, in an ideal place in the Santa Monica Mountains, where I become what I so admired when I was young and reading about the centuries of poets who go live in the mountains and write poetry; they come to town to get supplies sure enough, but mostly just living outdoors with books and a laptop. Nah, what I'd really like is for someone to say, Dude, I can't believe what you've done with your life, that's fuckin' amazing. My demons are no worse than anyone else's, I've never assaulted anyone, I don't have anyone I'm hiding from, I'm just an artist who somehow miraculously made it this far; treadin' water and twistin' in the wind for truth and justice.

poem

(untitled)

Can you believe all the decades

you believed the Sumerians

were just cute little farmers

and artisans, funny looking

people with blue eyes and black beards,

always standing with their

hands clasped at the solar plexus

as if at the ready to serve;

and you never knew

of the disputations

of the plow and the hoe,

the poplar and ash

the palm and vine;

you never knew; where now

the sculptures with pupils

as large as saucers

finally make sense.

Dear Diary

 Let's see, it's 2024, and earlier this year I was set to complete the novel. Then in the spring there was the student convention at ASU, then the resultant conversation with a well-known law professor and the chance of holding an open student convention next spring, to document it, to show how it's not dangerous, unless you think building societal consensus is dangerous. Then going on live-streams/podcasts talking the nuts and bolts of the convention clause. Because it's such a heavy subject on surface, I sometimes play the Coors/Cannabis/Cigarettes persona, leaving an avenue of escape for people to dismiss the notion.... I have made progress on the novel, I know it's there, but still much work to do. I wish I had a muse and inspiration; she doesn't have to be interested romantically, just aware of the endeavors with an occasional tip of the hat.... All this amidst billionaires who make no sense. All this as our collective consciousness becomes increasingly corrupted, yet a glimmer of hope persists.

Ludibrium of Life and Death

SpaceX just did another middle-of-the-night launch, carrying a classified payload of satellites for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). The mission, which is shrouded in secrecy, is part of the NRO's expanding “proliferated architecture,” a cutting-edge network of small satellites. This marks the fifth batch of satellites launched under the program, which the agency says will be the "largest government constellation in history." With hundreds of small satellites in orbit, data will be delivered in minutes or even seconds. The NRO began deploying its proliferated architecture with the launch in May 2024, followed by June, September and October. The agency's decision to proliferate its satellite constellation mirrors trends in the commercial space, where companies like SpaceX's Starlink have launched thousands of satellites to create expansive, interconnected networks. By adopting similar strategies, the NRO aims to achieve near-constant surveillance capabilities. While the NRO is clear about the benefits of a proliferated architecture, it remains tight-lipped about the specific purpose of these satellites. More launches are expected into 2028, according to the NRO. The Center for Strategic and International Studies, highlighted the importance of "persistence" and "fast revisit rates." But what exactly these satellites are persistently monitoring—or why—is classified. (Newsweek, 11/24 [edited])

Musk says the basis of his endeavor to go to Mars is to ensure the perpetuation of human consciousness. Even if we knew for certain we had a short time to accomplish this, obviously you’d build a base on the Moon first. That would be the logical/obvious first step if you need to go to Mars, because with still so much to know, critical things would be learned there prior to a liftoff for Mars. Yet no talk of initial base on Moon, just Occupy Mars. Jeff Bezos, instead of going to Mars, envisions giant cubicles in space, to hold millions of people—to save human consciousness. Yet the red flag of known science: human beings were made for Earth, life-threatening effects take hold once we get outside our atmosphere. Just because we’ve seen fictional movies of humans in space—healthy and functioning as if on Earth—doesn’t mean it’s possible. Bezos stated the truth—the fundamentals and technology of rocketry, for the capability to explore space, were all figured out in the 1960s. They were result of the investment of the American people under NASA, when Bezos was a child and Musk yet born. And now, subsidized by our government, they’re selling this stupidity/insanity of saving humanity by leaving Earth, and in the case of Musk, that stupidity/insanity extends to consciousness on Earth now: an early supporter/developer of AI, and as it’s evolved over the last few years he’s voiced concern, yet nothing about what he’s doing to address the issue. If you go to social media platforms, AI is currently scrambling human consciousness in multiple ways and he’s mum. A person who wants to save consciousness by going to Mars, who was directly involved in something scrambling consciousness now? NRO missions through his company? And he wants to have tons of robots running around too? And remember government loans for years to build an electric car to help with climate change, yet now has become ally of so-called climate deniers? A proponent of government reduction? Nine out of ten people today do not see that writing on the wall. To see it is to watch murder/rape in slow motion, which is ten times worse when you know the objective solution. At the least, there are still signs of hope to escape the mess. If humanity is a script, we’re in a thriller.
